The year 2020 threw most of the world into a spiral of technological demands that caught many off guard and almost in a desperate state to stay connected as well as relevant.
In Trinidad and Tobago, the education system was dampened for a period of Six (6) months as adjustments had to be made to a new medium of delivery. This new form of engagement caused many to become perplexed, as teachers and students who were accustom to physical engagement now had to interact online. Equipment along with the technology had to be sourced, designed, implemented and used by educators as well as students with no formal introduction.
The JL Foundation stepped in to assist students who were unable to purchase devices to gain access to their online education. Through our efforts, reaching out to individuals and corporate bodies we were able to secure some devices to distribute to students and we want to do so much more.
As we continue to struggle through these changed times we are hoping to complete the work on our Homework Centres, outfitting them with the technology required to give students the space and tools needed to advance themselves. We invite you to check out our campaign and support the work we are doing to make a difference…> https://gogetfunding.com/homework-centre-campaign/
